Emily Codner, 40
Director, Affiliate Services
iPROMOTEu
Millbury, Massachusetts
Getting Started
Codner applied for a marketing job at a small distributorship, only to find on her first day of training that it was not the role she thought. However she fell into it, she now says she absolutely loves all things promo. She moved to iPROMOTEu in 2008, initially working in accounting roles. She later worked on a strategic accounts and then presented CEO Ross Silverstein with the plan for an affiliate services department.
Earning The Honor
Lori Bauer, SVP of affiliate sales and support for iPROMOTEu, calls Codner a leader who continues to take on more responsibility and influence, both within iPROMOTEu and the industry.
What Do You Enjoy In Your Role?
“The people. I truly believe we are a work family within the walls of iPROMTOEu. I spend more time with my team than with my own family, and then when we get with the affiliates, they are just incredible. They know all about us. They support us. We know families, we know kids, and we celebrate each other and are there for each other in good times and bad.”
What Keeps You In This Industry?
“It’s ever-growing and ever-changing. No day is ever the same. There are always new things happening, new people coming up, and it’s just been fun to watch it evolve over the last 15 years into something bigger than ever before.”
How Can The Industry Attract More Young Leaders?
“We are a nation with a short attention span, shall I say. So, finding quick ways to get their attention, whether it be TikTok or whatever the social media fad is at the time. I think that a lot of people don’t know where their stuff with logos comes from. So, if there’s a way to market us as a fun and growing industry, I think that it will naturally attract a younger group of people.”
