A focus on its people has helped propel Cap America (PPAI 111597, Platinum) to success. Over the last few years, the Fredericktown, Missouri-based company has made a number of strategic executive hires, including promoting Gerald Pinkley to vice president of compliance. The newly created role will lead sustainability and compliance initiatives. Sarah Burgin was also promoted to chief operating officer earlier this year, a move that CEO Mark Gammon said, “will be extremely advantageous to our continued success.”

Outside of the C-suite, Cap America spent 2023 improving training programs for existing staff and new hires. The company is also looking to expand its office and plant workforce by offering work/life balance, competitive pay and benefits and advancement opportunities.

In the coming year, look for Cap America to complete its benchmarking and impact assessment, which will allow the firm to publish its first impact report.
