Blue Generation (PPAI 174655, Platinum) has hired Brett Garran as the company’s new vice president of sales, the Long Island, New York-based supplier announced. Blue Generation is PPAI 100’s No. 48 supplier.

  • The announcement comes after the decision by Terry O’Brien, the company’s senior vice president of sales, to retire after 23 years with Blue Generation.

Garran comes to the supplier after serving in the same role at Edwards Garment, PPAI 100’s No. 19 supplier, where he spent a decade. He also has sales experience at Vantage Apparel, PPAI 100’s No. 12 supplier.

“We are excited to have Brett join the Blue Generation team,” says Eric Rubin, CEO of Blue Generation. “His extensive expertise in the industry, combined with his passion for delivering results, aligns perfectly with our vision for the future. We look forward to his leadership in strengthening our market presence and expanding our customer engagement.”

Joining A Family Business

The Rubin family has run Blue Generation for three generations and counting. Considering O’Brien’s tenure of over two decades at the supplier, the hiring of Garran into an executive role is no small decision for a company that values continuity.

“I am so pleased to join the team at Blue Generation,” Garran says. “It is truly exciting to be able to work alongside three generations of the Rubin family. Knowing that Phil, Eric, and Matt are all extremely involved with the day-to-day business shows the level of commitment they have for the company’s growth, and I am thankful for the trust they have instilled with me.”

  • In his new role, Garran will focus on customer relationships, sales strategy and business development throughout North America.

In a statement, Blue Generation thanked O’Brien for the “leadership, vision and unwavering commitment” that he brought to his role at the company, which remains part of its continued path forward.

“There is a great story to tell about its journey and success over the last 80 years, and I cannot wait to help deliver that message to the promotional products, uniform market and industrial laundry industries,” Garran says.
