This time of year, your calendar is probably more packed than usual. With so many year-end obligations and social commitments, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Maybe you embrace the hustle or maybe you feel less enthusiastic. Either way, there are a few ways you can keep your spirits high while still accomplishing what you need to get done on the sales front.
Justina Thompson, a writer for the HubSpot Blog, has compiled a list of how you can leverage the holidays in your sales strategy. We share her tips in this issue of PromoPro Daily.
1. Stage some friendly holiday competition. Thompson says this is a tried-and-true tactic to infuse some fun into the workplace. One idea is to host a cold-calling competition and name the winner as the one who uses a holiday-related word with a prospect. If your sales team works remotely, Thompson encourages using holiday-themed gifs in your team communication. Or, she suggests a “holiday hustle hour” for the sales team to jump on a video call together and show off their holiday sweaters.
2. Keep things light and festive. When reaching out to your prospects, consider lightening up the tone of your emails. For example, Thompson says you could say something like, “Just wanted to bring some holiday cheer your way — and maybe help you cross one more thing off your year-end list with a solution that’s practically a gift!”
3. Emphasize any and all holiday deals your company has to offer. Now’s the time of year to roll out the big incentives. According to Thompson, offering festive, limited-time offers can create a sense of urgency and potentially attract new customers. If prospects were on the fence earlier in the year, maybe a year-end offer can help you close the deal.
4. Spread good cheer in your sales materials. This might mean creating holiday-themed playbooks for your sales reps, creating holiday-inspired video testimonials or designing holiday personas for your customers. Even just incorporating some holiday emojis can infuse a festive spirit into your interactions, Thompson says.
You can have fun this holiday season while still excelling in your work. Try incorporating some playful competitions or fostering festive connections with prospects. Even sprinkling in some holiday-focused language can add some cheer to your communications. Here’s to a joyful and sales-filled month!
