Cap America, Inc. (PPAI 111597, S10) has expanded its operations in Fredericktown, Missouri, with the supplier’s new May Building. Cap America purchased the building early in 2019, which was previously a Walmart before standing vacant for several years, and set about revamping the store into much-needed warehouse space.
“We started increasing our inventory levels a few years ago to meet demand, and we knew that once we added an entire new product line, we were going to need the space,” says Mark Gammon, president and chief operating officer of Cap America. “Purchasing the old Walmart building was a great choice, not only because it gives us the much-needed area, but also because it’s nice to drive through our community and see a brightly lit business instead of a vacant building.”
The May Building, named after the late Richard May who was an integral part of Cap America’s beginning and a good friend to Chairman and CEO Phil Page, provides an additional 40,000 square feet to house incoming inventory. It is now housing the company’s first shipment of its CA Premium Line caps, a new line that follows the company’s entrance into the sporting goods market.
