Distributor HALO Branded Solutions (PPAI 106462) has brought Dan McEntee on as senior vice president of global sourcing. McEntee most recently served as president of industry supplier Golden Pacific after many years in a variety of leadership positions at distributor Staples Promotional Products. McEntee will report to Jim Stutz, HALO executive vice president of business development.
“Our global sourcing has increased substantially over the past year with several key acquisitions that focus on large, highly competitive factory-direct client projects,” says Stutz. “Dan’s expertise with product development, product integrity and overseas sourcing will support our efforts to remain competitive in this market niche. We are confident that Dan will create additional value for our clients and account executives.”
McEntee adds, “My background matched HALO’s needs extremely well. I will focus on large, complex sourcing and distribution solutions for HALO’s key clients in the promotional and recognition markets. I am excited to join HALO and its energetic, growth-oriented culture.”
McEntee will be based in HALO’s new corporate headquarters, which opened last week in Sterling, Illinois. HALO’s trade supplier relations, which address over 90 percent of HALO’s total promotional purchases, will continue to report to Terry McGuire, HALO senior vice president of marketing and supplier relations.
Speaking to PPB Newslink, HALO CEO Marc Simon adds, “With all that Terry has going on with marketing and supplier relations in what is a rapidly growing domestic purchase of product, we needed the bandwidth. Having grown from five to 10 percent, we felt our global sourcing volume had grown to the point where it needed its own leader. We had the opportunity to bring Dan aboard and we couldn’t pass it up.”
He adds, “While our focus on domestic sourcing hasn’t changed, we see with Dan an opportunity to do a much more effective job on the direct sourcing side than we had been doing.”
