Goldstar (114031, Platinum) has joined the British Promotional Merchandise Association’s (BPMA) Step Forward Pledge to responsible practices. PPAI 100’s No. 16 ranked supplier is based out of Shelbyville, Tennessee but has expanded its presence to Europe in recent years.
- The Step Forward Pledge will require Goldstar to establish “meaningful” environmental and social goals, and the progress will be reviewed on an annual basis.
“The BPMA Step Forward Pledge underscores our ongoing efforts in the industry,” says Heather Smartt, global head of Goldstar. “Being part of this initiative demonstrates to our distributors that we’re not just making promises but are fully committed to taking real, impactful steps towards meaningful change.”
Goldstar’s operations serve clients in the U.S., Canada and across various countries in Europe with the company’s website offering different language and region options.
- Earlier this year, Smartt took over as leader of Goldstar’s presence across both continents.

A Low Carbon Future
According to BPMA’s CEO, Carey Trevill, the Step Forward Pledge will help to “transition the promo industry to a low carbon future” and help signees “future-proof” their businesses.
Signing on to the British association’s pledge is intended as further evidence of Goldstar’s larger commitment to sustainability and responsible practices. The supplier’s growing Made Better platform offers sustainably responsible products meant to win over clients and end users with their level of quality. Earlier this year, Goldstar announced an eco-friendly partnership with Ocean Bottle.
- PPAI recently partnered with Green Business Benchmark, offering members a 50% discount on detailed initiatives to help tailor their sustainability goals and track their progress.
