Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees and the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars are heating up the merchandise game with separate can’t-miss collaborations.

Yankees x New York or Nowhere

The Yankees teamed up with lifestyle brand New York or Nowhere (NYON) on a limited-edition collaboration in partnership with New Era Cap and the MLB.

The co-branded collection includes 49 kids’ and adult headwear and apparel, merging the classic elements of the Yankees brand with NYON’s aesthetic.

“The Yankees have always been on our list of dream collaborators, and to see this project come to life is truly surreal,” says Liz Eswein and Quincy Moore, NYON co-founders. “For NYON to be aligned with such a storied institution is a significant moment for us. We are honored to have this opportunity and grateful to the Yankees and MLB for trusting our vision.”

The launch campaign, starring Yankees legend Mariano Rivera and captured by photographer Jonathan Mannion, deepens the project’s connection to the team’s history while broadening its appeal across generations of fans.

“In only a few short years, New York or Nowhere has become an iconic fashion brand, not only within the five boroughs but far, far beyond,” says Marty Greenspun, senior vice president of strategic ventures for the New York Yankees. “NYON was a fantastic partner in bringing this project to fruition, and their talented creative team truly blended the best of our aesthetics in creating this collection. Now that the collaboration is available for purchase, we are really excited to see the response from fans, especially at the Yankee Stadium team store.”

The collection is available at select locations, including Yankee Stadium, the MLB Store on 6th Ave., NYON’s flagship in Nolita, and online at newyorkornowhere.com.

Jaguars x 89 Los Originals

Meanwhile, the Jaguars have linked up with local fashion brand 89 Los Originals to produce NFL-licensed merchandise.

The collaboration, “Since ’95: A Premium Collection for the Premium Fan,” will be available to Jaguars fans in four merch launch events.

  • The first drop – a limited-edition Jaguars’ branded all-over print shirt – was available at the Miller Electric Center Pro Shop on September 4, also known in Northeast Florida as 904 Day.
  • Fans can also order items online at 89LosOriginals.com.

Carlos Foster, the designer behind 89 Los Originals, is a native of Jacksonville’s OutEast community, a historic neighborhood near the stadium complex. His brand specializes in “urban vintage” clothing inspired by the “Golden Era of Hip-Hop.” Foster and his son, Carlos Foster, Jr., appear in the team’s 2024 schedule release video, which also honors the 1995 debut season.

This is the second collaboration between the Jaguars and a local fashion designer under the NFL’s local designer collaboration initiative.

  • A designer can become an NFL licensee through the partnership and sell their products in NFL retail stores and/or online.
  • The previous collaboration was with Ponte Vedra Beach-based Lafavre for a Jaguars’ collection during the 2023 season.
