PPAI staff members are long-time supporters of Irving Cares, a United Way agency dedicated to providing Irving, Texas, residents with temporary assistance and training to promote self-sufficiency. Since 2003, they have donated their time, money and labor to the agency, collecting more than 42,000 pounds of food for its food pantry, among other contributions. This week, the PPAI team joined Irving Cares board members and staff in decorating dozens of rocks which will be placed throughout the city to draw attention to the charity, which turns 60 this year, and its programs.
So far, PPAI employees have painted more than 120 rocks with plans to decorate more throughout the week. They will be left at businesses, schools, public and government buildings, parks and other locations and highlight #60for60, a campaign to support Irving Cares’ annual dinner and auction event, The Great Harvest, on September 22.
