Amid the uncertainty of a disaster, it can be difficult to know how to help.

While relief efforts formalize for the Los Angeles area wildfires, and members are encouraged to research the causes they want to support, PPAI is elevating the voices of those closest to the situation, including Specialty Advertising Association of California and area businesses.

SAAC representatives say they are prepared to receive any needed items shipped following the conclusion of The PPAI Expo and has plans to get essentials to affected communities.

Industry companies may contact SAAC for shipping details.

According to SAAC, the items most in need include:

  • Blankets
  • Toothbrushes, toothpaste and other hygiene products
  • N95 masks
  • Sanitizer
  • Socks
  • Children’s stuffies, toys, books or art materials
  • Power snacks

Speaking prior to the opening keynote of The PPAI Expo Conference on Monday, PPAI President and CEO Drew Holmgreen expressed the Association’s support SAAC’s relief initiative.

“Our thoughts are with those who have had their businesses or lives impacted,” Holmgreen said. “We’re working closely with SAAC, the regional association in Southern California, to support their efforts for our community.”

  • Holmgreen encouraged attendees to continue following PPAI Media for more information about how to join in the ongoing relief.
  • Numerous industry companies have reported operations affected by fire outbreak, which began last week.

Causes Area Members Support

PPAI Media sought input from leading industry firms in the area to find the causes they are supporting through the fires and in other times of hardship.

Among those collected from the likes of suppliers BELLAS+CANVAS and Goldstar were:

BELLA+CANVAS Clothing Drive

Additionally, BELLA+CANVAS has organized a clothing drive. Until Saturday, victims of the wildfires were invited to come to BELLA&+CANVAS headquarters in Commerce, California, to receive new clothing essentials.

“At BELLA+CANVAS, we’ve always believed in the power of community and coming together during times of need,” said Norm Hullinger, president of BELLA+CANVAS. “As the wildfires continue to impact so many lives, we remain committed to doing everything we can to support our neighbors. While the recovery will take time, this clothing drive is a step toward providing immediate relief to those who need it most.

“Los Angeles has always been our home, and we’re here to stand with our community every step of the way.”
