Printify and Printful, two top print-on-demand services, announced a merger Tuesday, and they’re hopeful the move will bring accelerated growth and offer customers the ability to expand their businesses globally. The financial terms of the deal haven’t been disclosed, though they each had the support of regulatory authorities and shareholders.

Both brands will join forces as equal partners and operate as separate entities “for the foreseeable future,” and existing sellers and customer can soon expect to see new offerings on both platforms, according to the companies.

Though they each have Latvian roots, both companies now have headquarters in the U.S. and serve multiple countries worldwide.

Printify reportedly brings in $103 million in revenue each year, and Printful is projected to make $2.26 billion in revenue this year. Promotional products make up a portion of each of the companies’ business.

Promo Perspective

Particularly of note for the promotional products industry is that, the duo has teased expanded plans for direct-to-consumer offerings, allowing businesses from individual entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies to offer their own brand merch, TechCrunch reports.

Founded in 2013, Printful first provided services to small- and medium-sized businesses before expanding and working with large businesses and the direct-to-consumer sector. The company has its own on-demand production facilities across several continents, and fulfills more than 1 million items a month.

“As our discussions progressed, we found that our cultures are very similar, while our businesses are even more complementary than we initially believed,” says Alex Saltonstall, CEO of Printful. “I’m excited to see our two great technology companies combine strengths and provide our customers with ever improving opportunities to fulfill their business goals.”

“Our combined company will give our merchants more,” promises Anastasija Oļeiņika, CEO of Printify. “More top-quality products, more places to sell, more innovative solutions, and more growth and profit. We’re also going to be able to provide best in class learning, talent density, and development opportunities for our teams.”
