PromoCares, a volunteer-driven group of industry members dedicated to corporate social and environmental responsibility, and the Planet Water Foundation are teaming up to provide relief funds for those impacted by the devastating earthquakes in Myanmar last month.
- More than 1,600 people have been killed and thousands more injured in Myanmar following a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that was also felt in neighboring countries, BBC reported.
Planet Water is providing disaster relief by way of clean water and water towers.
- PromoCares needs to raise $30,000 by Friday, April 11.
- Hit Promotional Products, PPAI 100’s No. 4 supplier, jumped in to provide a donation match up to $20,000.
PromoCares will also have a presence at virtual event Sage Conference on Tuesday, April 8, to promote the cause.

What You Can Do
PromoCares is asking members of the promotional products industry to post about the fundraising efforts on social media as much as possible, tagging PromoCares, Planet Water and Hit, along with folks you want to call out and activate. Here are some suggested talking points:
- Our global supply chain connects us all. The tragedy of the earthquake in Myanmar is unthinkable and has us worried for the impact to human lives and the broader promo manufacturing industry.
- Planet Water Foundation supports areas after tragedy with emergency services to provide clean water, recently assisting those in North Carolina affected by the hurricanes in the fall.
- Use the hashtags #water4good and #planetwaterfoundation.
