Who needs spooky when you can go full-on hydration or snack mode?

This Halloween, people are embracing the quirky by dressing up as their go-to drink tumbler or favorite takeout order. Target’s Stanley Tumbler-inspired getup and Chipotle’s hilariously on-brand collection — complete with a burrito, fork and more — are in the costume spotlight.

Target Sells Stanley Tumbler-Inspired Costume

Target hopped on the Stanley Tumbler craze for Halloween with a life-sized costume of the popular drinkware.

In 2024, the retail product-turned-cultural phenomenon has been all over the news, dominating TikTok trends and sparking Target sellouts (and near-stampedes) with every new color drop. Now, adults and kids can dress up as everyone’s favorite drink accessory with the retailer’s exclusive Stanley-inspired Tumbley Pop-Up costume.

  • Target already offers a variety of Stanley cups and accessories online, so it’s only fitting that it now offers a costume inspired by the popular tumbler.

However, the costume isn’t officially licensed, hence its “Tumbley” name.

This simple costume transforms you into a pop-up blue vinyl cup with a built-in handle and straw, making it a party or parade standout so you can “quench everyone’s thirst for fun this Halloween.”

Featuring the recognizable Tumbley logo on the front, the one-size-fits-most costume also has hand openings for easy use. Flatten the cup and twist the ends to fold it for easy storage when packing it up.

  • At $35, the Tumbley Pop-Up costume costs less than a 40-oz. Stanley Tumbler — and it’ll likely sell out fast.

Chipotle Launches Meme-Inspired Halloween Costumes

In September, Chipotle Mexican Grill debuted its first quirky costume collection, inspired by popular memes on both brands’ social channels, in collaboration with Spirit Halloween.

Two years ago, Chipotle hopped on the viral trend of social media users creating their costume ideas featuring the iconic Spirit Halloween bag. The food chain posted a fictional Chipotle fork bodysuit, followed by a Chipotle napkin costume concept — resulting in more than 700,000 online fan engagements.

This year, Chipotle and Spirit Halloween teamed up to revive these two memorable memes and bring them to life, along with three entirely new looks for Halloween.

“Our popular Halloween tradition, Boorito, began with a burrito-themed costume contest, and now we’re taking it to the next level with the launch of our first-ever costume collection,” says Chris Brandt, Chipotle’s chief brand officer.

The first official Chipotle costumes — including the Chipotle Fork, Chipotle Napkin, Chipotle Water Cup, Chipotle Burrito and Chipotle To-Go Bag — are sold individually and range in size from adult small to XL. Each bodysuit retails for $39.99 in the U.S. and Canada.

This isn’t the first time Chipotle has turned online conversation into an actual product. In August 2022, the brand introduced a limited-edition lemonade-scented soy candle designed to look like a Chipotle water cup. (Some Chipotle fans have “accidentally” filled their complimentary water cups with lemonade at the restaurant’s beverage stations.)

In response to many fan social posts, Chipotle has acknowledged these “accidents” in tweets over the years and even published a description of the Chipotle water cup candle on X in December 2019.
