A blockbuster acquisition helped propel HPG (PPAI 110772, Platinum) to the sixth spot in this year’s PPAI 100. The Massachusetts-based firm snapped up eight companies between 2017 and 2020, expanding its footprint to more than 10,000 SKUs shipping from nine facilities across North America. HPG continued its growth trajectory in 2023, purchasing Evans Manufacturing, itself one of the larger suppliers in the promotional products industry. The partnership pushed HPG’s offerings to over 15,000 SKUs from 11 top brands.
What’s next for the company? HPG will remain focused on the environmental space, announcing in February a partnership with TerraCycle. Under the collaboration, HPG will produce zero-waste boxes for pens, pencils and markers. The company is also expanding its leadership roles to better support its brands.
After years of growing through corporate acquisitions, the company has recently focused more on personnel, making the accumulation of notable industry veterans a priority.
