PWS (PPAI 198020, Gold) was founded in 1979 as a representative of retail packaging manufacturers to paper and packaging distributors. In 1998, the two partners began warehousing packaging products and offering quick production turnaround times on custom-printed gift boxes, ribbon and paper and plastic bags.

By 2001, the operation in Brea, California had grown to more than 100 employees. By 2017, PWS expanded to a second facility in Portland, Tennessee.
